These bring back a lot of memories. I can remember my parents, who were school teachers, spending hours
typing on machines like these. You have to be of a certain age to have any memory of terms such as, ribbon,
carbon paper, and white-out. I can still remember the 'ding' sound that indicated you were coming to the
end of the line. The 'click click' and sliding sound of the carriage return, and the 'tapping' sound of the
keystrokes as they hit the carriage. I think these could be made to work with a little effort to get them into
working
order, however, I'm sure they will remain still and quite, just relics of a bygone era.
